Recent Reports by Brian Edwards:
Brian joined Chilmark Research as Associate Analyst in September 2017, having spent the last ten years working with providers in the trenches of digital health, telemedicine and biomedical informatics research and development. Experiences with the Kanter Foundation, Health Heritage, NorthShore University HealthSystem and Startup Health taught him how to identify and navigate the nuanced processes, workflows and competing interests one must overcome to successfully implement emerging technologies in healthcare.
In his previous role as Executive Director of the Joseph H. Kanter Foundation Brian led the effort to build a Learning Health System that aggregated electronic medical records across multiple institutions and used the data to provide patients with decision support based on the outcomes of similar patients.
Brian co-founded Health Heritage, a startup that used Natural Language Processing and electronic medical records to automate the generation of a family health history and risk assessment for the ten known heritable cancers. This report could be used to get a preventative genetic test covered by a payer. Health Heritage was acquired in 2015 by NantHealth.
Brian will be covering Artificial Intelligence and its underlying technologies such as Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Predictive and Prescriptive Analytics, Computer Vision and Big Data.
