Happy Birthday: It’s Free February

by | Feb 17, 2015

fireSeveral years ago I started a tradition of giving away one of our research reports in February to celebrate the month of my birth. It is also a small way to try and give something back to a community that has been so generous to me personally in helping to mentor me on my path to becoming an analyst in the healthcare sector and now mentoring others, especially Chilmark analysts.

Honestly, I feel so fortunate for the opportunity that our clients have given us by supporting our research over the last eight years. These individuals have shared our vision to help educate the market on the effective adoption, deployment and use of IT in the context of improving the quality of care delivery and the patient experience. I love the work we do and think daily about how we can improve our research, reach more organizations and help them on the path to effectively leveraging their technology assets.

It is very difficult for me to put that full appreciation into words. But what I can do is once a year, help to educate the broader healthcare community, which in turn helps our clients, for is not an educated customer/prospect far better than one who is not?

For this year’s Free February, we’ll have the same terms wherein you provide us some simple information about yourself (please be honest) and we will provide you a PDF of the report.

But we are also doing something a little special this year.

This year happens to be my son, John III’s, 30th birthday (also in February). Since this is a rather special milestone in one’s life as no one under 25 is suppose to trust anyone over 30, we will offer a special report to commemorate his maturity (or slipping slowly into old age): our 2013 Clinical Analytics for Population Health (CAPH) Market Trends Report (please note: Free February has expired – however we can sell a discounted 2013 report).

As with John’s 30th, this was a milestone report for us and the industry as at the time it provided the most comprehensive analysis of this rapidly evolving market. Of course, the CAPH market has continued to evolve and we updated this report in late 2014, but it is a little too early for us to start giving away that latest analytics report – after all, this is how we make a living.

So thank you one and all – far too many to mention by name – who have in some way helped Chilmark Research reach the level it is at today. With your continued support, we will continue to expand the breath and depth of our coverage areas. Stay tuned, we have some very interesting research in the wings.

    Hi John;

    I have been really enjoying your very informative post. Your site is on bookmark to make sure I get all the latest healthcare update. Thank you!

    One question, you said “you provide us some simple information about yourself (please be honest) and we will provide you a PDF of the report”. Where do we provide that information? Right here in the reply section?

    Much thanks, and please keep up the work! Happy birthday by the way to the both of you!

    Thank you for the free report. That’s very nice of you. And I don’t mean to complain in the face of such generosity, but the Report I’d really, really would like is the 2014-15 Clinician Network Management Market Trends Report. Could I get that one instead? Or at least the Executive Summary?

      Hi John – While we are thrilled you really want a copy of our recent CNM report, that report is still far too recently published to qualify for a Free February giveaway. It just isn’t fair to us (all the work we put into it) or those that have recently purchased the report. This is actually the first time we’ve ever given away a Market Trends Report at all, so already a particularly special FF. This report on that topic is already freely available though: The Migration to Clinician Network Management. Maybe we’ll give the CNM MTR away next year (no promises!).

    John, thank you, very generous. I know producing this research is very time consuming and I appreciate the opportunity to have access to it for free. I have been following you for years and am very fond of your work. Thank you for your contributions to the healthcare IT community, happy birthday, and best wishes for continued success.
