Fall Convergence Conference Officially Launches with Speakers, Sessions

by | Jul 11, 2017

Chilmark Research, with support from Founding Sponsors CareEvolution and Cerner, is pleased to announce the official launch of the inaugural Convergence Conference to be held in Boston, MA on October 4-6, 2017.

Today’s environment of government initiatives, outcomes-based payment models, and provider consolidation have created a very deep and complicated challenge with explosive opportunities for innovation, collaboration and leadership. We termed this evolution of the industry convergence, a trend we have observed gaining exponential traction across all industry verticals in the past year. As one Anthem executive put it:

“Ultimately, the real treasure to be found in enhancing the patient experience, improving quality and lowering cost will not be realized without payment innovation that drives clinical, operational and financial alignment with regard to the providers, care delivery systems and health care insurers and then to the members as well. Real collaboration is no longer a good-to-have option but instead a need-to-have survival imperative. This change in the health care delivery culture will require trust, shared accountabilities and ensure that the fortunes of providers, health care systems and payers rise and fall collectively based on the value they collaboratively bring. There is a lucrative opportunity for disruptive innovators that fill the PHM expertise void and align providers, care delivery systems and payers in this effort.”

-Dr. Michael Vincent Smith, Regional VP Medical Director, Anthem

Convergence 2017 will highlight examples of innovations in healthcare technology, business models, and delivery systems as the lines between providers and payers continue to blur in response to the inevitable growth of value-based care. Below is a brief sampling of key topics that will be addressed:

  • What does successful convergence look like for payer, provider, employer, and patient?
  • What new opportunities can a convergence strategy present to each organization and the population they serve?
  • How can you develop trust between organizations to open up communication?
  • What are current points of friction hindering progress, and how can they be overcome?
  • Where are current technology gaps impeding effective convergence strategies?

The event will feature a number of early leaders in this area sharing experiences and insights into industry best practices and opportunities to thrive in this changing landscape. Below are just a few of the executives working in this space that we’re excited to share the stage with this fall:

Registration is now open for the conference, which will be hosted at the Hyatt Regency Boston. To take advantage of the lowest possible registration rates, be sure to register prior to July 28th.
