Aspen Health Forum: Views from the Mountains

by John Moore | July 24, 2009

gelightOver the next couple of days, Chilmark will have the honor and pleasure to attend the Aspen Institute’s Health Forum.  Looking over the Forum agenda, one finds a pretty eclectic view on issues regarding health and wellness ranging from the usual topics of healthcare reform, Health IT, genomic research and the like to topics that Chilmark rarely has the opportunity to hear about such as the role of schools in promoting health among youth, food and health, the politics of sex (hmm, that might be interesting), etc.

While we certainly will not try to cover and address everything we hear and learn, Chilmark will listen closely for those few, key take-aways that any decent conference has and report them back to you.  One event that we are particularly interested is tonight’s dinner event hosted by GE (they’re out beating the Healthymagination drum here in Aspen) with the topic: It’s Time You Got in the Game: Engaging and Empowering Consumers. A bit ironic coming from a company such as GE which has done extremely little on the consumer engagement front in healthcare, well, that is if you take NBC’s new Health Program off the table.  What we are interested in is how GE and its technology may become as pervasive in consumer health as they once were in light bulbs.

Stay tuned

…and I thought my invitation was all exclusive. Do they think you’re “young” too 🙂 See you in a few–Matthew
