Join us for an MU3 Tweetchat this Thursday!

by | Mar 24, 2015

As you are likely already aware, CMS released their proposed Stage 3 Meaningful Use attestation regulations this past Friday, March 20th. Since then, there has been a good deal of writing on the subject, and many opinions have already been voiced. We want to add a more collaborative, interactive element to the discussion, and since we haven’t see anyone else propose this yet, we will:

Let’s do a tweetchat!

Join us Thursday March 26th at 3PM ET for a lively conversation about the recently proposed Stage 3 Meaningful Use rules. We will have the Chilmark Team (and friends) on hand to discuss what this means for the health IT industry. To participate, just search for #MU3 on Twitter and start adding your own thoughts / questions.

Here are the six topics we’ve chosen as the starting points to get the conversation going. Feel free to suggest others in the comments section at the bottom of the page:

  1. With weak EP attestation for #MU2, are #MU3 requirements simply a bridge too far?
  2. Will the EMR, after #MU3, be capable of being primary reporting vehicle for the assorted quality reporting programs?
  3. Will the SGR Fix give a backdoor out of penalties by the low weight it gives EHR #MU3 attainment?
  4. Is CMS’s EMR-centric vision for care coordination in #MU3 flawed from outset? Too little too late after not including post-acute from start?
  5. Is requiring a specific % of patient engagement realistic? Can CMS / HCOs mandate consumer behavior? #MU3
  6. Does #MU3 leverage APIs enough or is something like the “decertification penalty” needed?

We will be looking at these questions from the perspective of our normal research and coverage, and how these new regs will impact the four major transformative health IT technologies: Analytics, Patient Engagement, Health Information Exchange, and Care Coordination.

New to Tweetchats? No worries. Naveen wrote a great summary of how to engage back in his LiveStrong Foundation days. You can view the entire post here (scroll down for the insights on participation), but this is the most important section:

How do I participate?
By searching the hashtag on Twitter you can view the progress of the discussion and join in from there. Pay attention to the questions asked by the moderator but feel free to contribute your own questions, commentary, or relevant articles/links as long as they relate to the topic. Be respectful of the issues and questions presented as well as tweets from other contributors!
